Privacy Policy — DBO Studio

Last updated: September 21, 2025

TL;DR

DBO Studio respects your privacy. We do not send your database credentials, queries, or database content to our servers. We collect anonymous crash reports and basic website analytics. Billing and payment data are processed by third-party providers.

1. Information We Collect

A. When you use the Apps

  • We may generate a private one-way device hash for license management. This hash does not contain personal information.
  • We may collect crash reports to improve the Apps. Crash reports are anonymous and can be disabled in the app preferences.
  • Your database content (queries, history, favorites, credentials) is never transmitted to our servers. Credentials are stored securely on your device.

B. When you use the Site

  • We automatically collect non-personal information such as browser type, operating system, IP address, referring/exit pages, click patterns and session IDs.
  • If you purchase a license or service, we collect personal information necessary for that transaction (e.g., email, billing info, payment details).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information for internal purposes and do not sell or rent personal data. Main uses include:

  • Billing, authentication, and customer support.

  • Communications about updates, offers, or support.

  • Improving and enhancing the service and product analytics (aggregate, anonymized).

  • Complying with legal obligations.

3. User Content & Database Connections

DBO Studio apps connect directly to your databases using end-to-end encryption. We do not sync or transmit your database credentials, queries, history, or database contents to our servers under normal operation. All sensitive data remains on your device unless you explicitly choose otherwise.

4. Consent

By using the Site or Apps you consent to data collection as described. You may withdraw consent (for example, opt-out of crash reporting) via app settings or by contacting us.

5. Disclosure

We will not disclose personal information except:

  • To trusted service providers (payment processors, hosting providers) who are contractually required to protect it.

  • When required by law, regulation, or legal process.

  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case we will notify users of material changes.

6. Third-Party Services

Third-party providers (especially payment processors) have their own privacy practices. If a third party processes a transaction in another jurisdiction, your data may be subject to that jurisdiction's laws.

7. Security

We follow industry best practices to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure — use strong local security practices, and keep backups of critical credentials.

8. Cookies

The Site may use cookies for session management and analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some Site features may not work properly.

9. Age of Consent

The Apps and Site are intended for users aged 13 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 and will delete such data if discovered.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy at any time. Changes take effect when posted on the Site. Material changes will be announced.
